I grew up frequently hearing the Andean folklore story of the Ichiqolico. This is a story that parents use to keep their children from playing away from home at night. The legend tells that on the foggy nights of a full moon, the devil, disguised as a man, steals away children who venture out alone into the hillsides of the Andes. The Ichiqolico can be identified by his light skin and feet, which are actually the claws of a rooster.
